Hello everyone. I have an IWC piece that I’m having trouble finding info on. It’s a pocket watch that was passed from my grandfather to me. It’s just a basic gold pocket watch, the serial number under the covers are as follows. (753640) posting photos as well. Any help is greatly appreciated and I look forward to speaking with all of you IWC collectors!

    Hi Csa0286,

please provide the case and the movement number and a photo of the movement. This will help to get more details of your watch.

I’ll have to get back to you on that, I’m not comfortable taking the watch apart on my own. Will repost when I find someone who can take it apart to get the numbers.

    Thanks!
    Chris.

    Hi,

for the case number, it is on the first back lid of the case. We can see it on one of your photos, but it is impossible to read on that picture. It is the six digit number where also the gold hallmark can be seen. For the movement number you just have to open the second lid on the caseback.

The number was posted in my original thread, 753640. The number is the same on both lids. I called it the serial number which was my mistake, don’t know anything about time pieces.

    Hi,

the case number 753640 tells us that the case was produced in 1920 most probably.
