Last night, a wonderful event was held at the IWC boutique in Amsterdam.
Not only were several historic Gerald Genta-designed Ingenieur models on display, but we also enjoyed a fascinating conversation between IWC Head of Design Christian Knoop and Alexia Genta, daughter of the late Gerald Genta.
Alexia does an outstanding job of preserving her father's legacy. It was particularly inspiring to hear her describe how her father would design watches in the morning and paint in the afternoon. Through his art, he found even greater creative freedom, yet both passions continuously inspired one another.
Christian Knoop also shared valuable insights into the development of the new Ingenieur and the feedback the Genta family provided when they were first shown the prototype.
It was a fun and memorable evening. To top it off, I even saw a fellow collector leave with the special Ingenieur 50th Anniversary edition.
