I know this sounds a stupid question. But my 8541ES can be wound automatically, but it failed to be wound by hand. Is this normal?

    Hi Pang,

    this sounds very strange.

Can you set the hands by pulling the crown and operate it? If yes, the stem of the Crown is OK.

Push the crown back in and turn int counterclockwise, You should hear a clicking voice vrom the sliding pinion that is slipping.

If that is not the case the sliding pininon sems to be stuck. Then your watch should be taken care by a watchmaker.

HI Cromagnonman. Yes, the winding stem seems unable to "lock"/engage at the winding position. But it works well at the time-adjusting position.
