I was just wondering, when will the novelties for 2010 be announced? In 2010 the SIHH is from 18 to 22 January and I noticed that some brands are already showing (some) novelties. I know this is not the way IWC works but nevertheless, I am curious!

    Kind regards,

    Clemens

MF, Why are they called "novelties" >>>

Which I understand to mean "a new or unfamiliar thing". Instead of say, "Collection 2009, Collection 2010 and so forth"?

translation from French and German, I'd guess...

...I concur, the word in English has different connotations.

    IWC novelties for SIHH 2010?

I am predicting something exciting (i.e.: focusing on a single line instead of the whole collection revamp). Like many have noticed, the current catalogue is intended for collection in '09/10. The Portugieser Laureus was not featured so perhaps that will be in next year's catalogue. Just my 2 cents.

    IWC novelties for SIHH 2010?

Novelties would translate "nouveautées" in french , meaning
    of course new things.

    May be, because…

... the entire Collection doesn’t change and there are just some “new” items that evolve from previous version showing some "new or unfamiliar things” which mean “novelties” from lat. Novitas or novitatis (new thing or a recent change)

    Regards,
    M
