A very big (Pilot) thank you to IWC Schaffhausen and the Collectors Forum for the kind invitation to Watches & Wonders 2026. Being part of this experience for the first time is something I truly appreciate!
Collecting watches has long been my great passion, but especially in the beginning it was a rather individual/solitary hobby. It was my passion for IWC in particular that drew my attention to the Collectors Forum, and last year I found myself drawn into the rabbit hole of this wealth of expertise and knowledge. My admiration for IWC as a brand, its products and its legacy was at an all-time high.
Events like Watches & Wonders create a space where this enthusiasm can be experienced together. As a newcomer to this kind of setting, I was genuinely impressed by the insane knowledge within the community as well as the very warm welcome I received from the beginning. The collectors, as well as the team at IWC, bring an incredible level of expertise, openness, and passion that makes every conversation worthwhile. It’s an environment that was both inspiring and welcoming at the same time.
Beyond that, the event itself was defined by an outstanding lineup of watches and the opportunity to meet so many interesting and like-minded people. IWC, in particular, presented a collection of bold, confident novelties that underline a very strong direction for the brand. The entire lineup felt cohesive, modern, and remarkably well executed. Experiences like this also come with a familiar challenge; narrowing down the list of pieces I’d suddenly love to add to the collection^^
All in all, I’m incredibly thankful for the invitation and already looking forward to what’s to come. Initiatives like the Forum, and the openness of brands like IWC to bring collectors together in this way, are truly something special.
My heartfelt thanks to the collectors and especially to IWC; these were days I’m sure I’ll never forget!
Warm regards from the train (reading "The Little Prince" and thinking about a certain rose-gold Mark XX)
Until next time!
Max
