    Hi there,

I recently bought an IWC military watch. I bought it 2nd hand. I tried to google for info to learn more about it, but nothing relevant came up.

I hope somebody can help me. Below is the info I have from what I can see on the watch's back cap.

Sorry Stargazer your watch is a fake.

There is a site dedicated to the IWC WWW (often called the Mark X):

    IWC Mark X

There watches have a small seconds dial NOT a sweep second hand and a IWC calibre 83 movement. There a numerous images on the site that will show the genuine IWC watch. Your WWW markings are likely faked as well.

The movement in you watch is not an IWC movement.

Sorry to give you the bad news.

    Hi Cellar,

Could you help to see this IWC military watch?.. Your text to link here...

It doesn't have a subdail like you mentioned every IWC military watch should have. Is the watch fake too? If it's not, what markings that defy it being fake.

    Regards,
    Stargazer

    Hi Stargazer,

The watch in the link you have shown is an IWC Mk 11, it has a centre sweep second hand and an IWC Calibre 89 movement.

The watch you initially posted has WWW markings and is known as a Mark X it has a small seconds dial NOT a sweep second hand and a IWC calibre 83 movement. (As indicated in my initial reply). The link to the Mark X / WWW site shows many examples of the WWW markings and the watches. These markings were not used on the centre second IWC Mk 11.

Your watch is most certainly a fake. The movement is not an IWC movement, neither a Calibre 83 or a Calibre 89.

    Cheers from the cellar
