    Dear all,

as some of you will have already seen since early April on amazon and ebay a
new book in IWC is on the market, written by Alan Myers, Ralph Ehrismann, Aron
Mathe, Giovanni Luchetti and me. It covers the period from 1875 to 1890, so
the period of Seeland and the early Rauschenbach period until the advent of
the well known and documented Cal. 52/53 subsequent.

The collectors invited to attend the fair Watches and Wonders should have got
one copy each as a present. But more than obviously the logistic service
provider is incompetent and up to now was not able to deliver them. It is hard
to believe, but obviously that is as it is.

In the meantime several fellow collectors approached me and asked questions on
the book. In a nutshell: It is alike the "Jones Book", so a book written by
collectors for collectors. It features details of the calibres produced in
that era allowing to identify watches showing up on the internet and at
auction and sheds some light on the historical and economic background.

It is in English only, but I'm sure every collector interested in that period
will be happy to get the book as nearly no reliable information on that period
    is available elsewhere.

I leave it to our moderator and our fellow collectors to judge on this book.
However, those who want to be prepared for the ongoing spring auction season
or continously monitor ebay and other platforms for watches from that period
should consider to buy this book before bidding.

    Best regards

    Thomas Koenig

    Hi Thomas

    Congratulations, this is great.
Is the book available from other sources?

You don't mention the title in the post, and I was unable to find it on
    Amazon.

I have found it on the Internet. The title is "The International Watch Co.
from 1875 to 1890", ISBN: 978-3-7639-7036-0 (or without the strokes:
    9783763970360).

Dear collectors, I just got my copy of the book. Browsed in the book and took
some of my collection out to compare with the pictures and information in the
book. Learned already quite a lot about my collection.

The book is really a must for those interested in the early post Jones era of
    IWC history.

Written by collectors for collectors, an amazing source of knowledge together
in one book. Thank you guys for taken the time not only to write this down but
also for taking the time and effort to acquire the knowledge.

I took the liberty to take some pics of some of my pocketwatches on top of the
pages, happy to see that I have some rare ones in my collection.

Today a day of in Belgium, lousy weather, so time to start reading...( curious
to fins out more about my Pallweber collection )

Those that attended W&W 2022 in Geneva, will have a copy of the book in their
    mail soon.

Absolutely superb news - and certainly worth the wait.

As you correctly write, up until now there has been little properly documented
regarding this period and you and the fellow collectors have done a sterling
job of helping to ensure the history and legacy of that period gets not only
    clarified - but superbly outlined.

You write " ...a book written by collectors for collectors." - and this
Collector for one thanks you and the other authors Herr Koenig for the superb
effort and dedication in ensuring that despite the difficulties, that the book
    got both written and published.

    Just great,

absolutely impressive what the five collectors have created. This book shows
the passion the authors have invested to shine a light into the "dark age" of
the International Wach Co the post Jones aera. If i can have a wish, i would
like to have more of that kind of information.

thanks for the time and effort you guys put into this book.
