Found a NOS 5300 this morning and jumped on it. Now waiting for DHL Express to do their thing after the seller confirms funds clear.

    Hi Scott,
This is a very beautiful, high-quality pocket watch from the late era of pocket watches, or perhaps even from a bygone era. In German-speaking countries, these flat Lepine pocket watches are known as ‘Frackuhren’ that translates to Tailcoat watches.

    Thanks for that information!

Do you happen to know if there were chains made for these watches? I am struggling to find any information as to whether they were made or sold directly or via third party.

    Hi Scott,

there are pocket watch chains stamped with IWC logo. I guess the chains where not produced by IWC but by special suppliers. In the pibture below you see the IWC stamp on the link close to the watch end side.

    Thank you!

If you have any ideas on where I could source a chain? I'm running a number of searches on the Internet for Waldemar-style chains in stainless steel using various criteria and coming up short right now.

I would also to hang on this topic.
