    Hello IWC enthusiasts.

I have a question, does the dial look original?

Hard to asy as it is not a common dial, but it looks pretty good. Here is another early 666 with the same dial type:

    Hi Skand,

the dial looks good and original from my point of view. In fact seems to be very good preserved for an almost 70 years old watch. The slight discoloration on the center between 7 and 8 might be caused by the luminous radiant hands, while the watch was stored not running for a prolonged time. An early 666 in very nice condition.

Thank you for your helpful entries. They scared me a bit on the Omega Forum, saying that in this 666 model the font in the SCHAFFHAUSEN inscription should be much thinner, but this is the third watch that deviates from the norm in the catalog photos. In my opinion, it could be that the early 666s had a different font. I'm still asking for your entries because you are the IWC experts for me

They've shown up in very poor condition ( all around) before today..the mk2 version post '59 with a balanced h ( WATCh) and the gauss flash running through the N was clearly finer ( ish).

CATHERINE, you use concepts that are unknown to me, but you once helped me evaluate the IWC cal 854. Do you think that everything is as it should be in this early Ingeniour?

They've turned up in very poor condition, no takers...whatever that tells you.

CATHERINE, do you mean that sellers started repainting the dial to make it look better? Yesterday I took a test for radium. Is anyone able to restore the dial and maintain these parameters?

If the wobbly h 666s turn up battered beyond a $...then you can start to presume they were original pattern.
