    Hello Andreas

I'm not a big Pocketwatch Specialist but to me it looks like a Caliber 52
Lepine Pocketwatch. This matches also with the year 1911 that you have
    mentioned.

There is a number on the movement which I can not see properly on your photos.
If you give me this number, I can reconfirm and probably give you more
    details.

    Hello Philipp.

Sorry for my late reply. I have more information and already the watch in
Service at IWC Schaffhausen. It is a Cal. 52 Lepine Pocketwatch.
It was sold to my Great-Grandfather in October 1911.

I can not wait until I get the piece back from Service looking nice and clean
again. On the dial I said they should let it original as it reflectes the time
and story of this 111 year old watch.

    Best

    Magnificent family heirloom.
I can't wait to see the result of the refurbishing once completed in
    Schaffhausen.

My 1914 Cal 52 says hello.

    Hello all.

I would like to give you a small update on the pocket watch of my great-grandfather.
A bit more than a year ago I was lucky to be a owner of an IWC Pocketwatch caliber 52 from 1911
Today I was happy to receive this watch back from restauration and it looks stunning and almost new.
We did leave the fine hairline cracks on the dial cause it tells a story and we just cleaned the watch and not polished it.
The differences in looking are incredible on this 112 year old watch.

    What do you think?

    A proud great grandson.

Wow, that's really great. Huge congratulations!

It's very good that you had this wonderful Pocketwatch restored. As it is costly, many people don't do it and therefore more and more Pocketwatches break and finally vanish.

Yours is now ready for the next decades and is preserved as a heirloom, not only for your family but also for IWC's history.
