    Dear All,

I own a Portugieser Automatic IW500703 that I love by the way.

The rotor has always been a bit noisy but the sound recently became louder.
As I can see the movement through the glass on the back, I noticed that when I
moved the watch, the rotor did not only rotate but was also moving forward and
backward (it can actually come in contact with the glass). The strange noise
was actually the rotor knocking/grinding on the glass.

I then decided to send the watch for servicing.

I have just received it back and nothing changed...

Prior I send it back, I was wondering whether any owner of the same model
could have a look at the rotor behaviour and tell me if it actually moves
    forward and backward as mine?

Thanks in advance for your help!

    Benoit

    Hi Benoit,

I have 5001 but, in general, I have never ever seen a rotor with noticeable
lateral movement.... not to say it touches the glass!!! I'd return to you
dealer and have it sent back for service again. Really strange since during a
full service they always completely dismantle the movement, clean & oil, put
it back together it and then check it for a few days.

    Good luck,

    Bob

    Hi Bob,

Thank you very much for your feedback!

I am planning to have it checked again by my dealer and I believe they will
send it for a new revision.

I am also surprised that the problem was not fixed by IWC as the problem was
clearly identified when I first send it... Considering the price paid for a
full servicing and the theoretical quality control process applied by IWC, I
    am very disappointed!

Anyway, I will let you know the outcome as it can be of someone's help in the
    future.

    Hi Bob,

As you took some time to revert to me, please find here below an update.

After my watch was sent back to IWC, they performed a new full servicing and
noticed the rotor bearing was broken.

I don't know how this has been missed during first servicing and how the watch
    passed quality control checks.

Really disappointing but problem was finally fixed.

    Cheers!

Great to hear and sometimes unbelievable what can be missed... anyway, enjoy
    the watch!
