the spam post problem seems to be getting out of hand. In a previous thread on this topic, which now apparently and ironically itself has become the target of automated (AI-created) posts, Andreas had mentioned that the age of the forum software might make filtering and moderation difficult. The software also doesn't seem to have a mechanism for flagging posts as potential spam or 'account warming'.
Since I had positive experiences with so-called 'vibe coded' interfaces for extraction and manipulation of information, this made me think that one could use AI to a) either help with recognizing and preventing creation of and posting from spam accounts, and/or b) help with extracting the forum structure and existing posts from the current software, and replicating it in a new more easily managed environment.
I'm not a programmer or software person per se, so I thought I throw this idea out here for discussion, hoping that there might be more 'software-affine' members who could chime in. Ongoing moderation help might need an AI subscription (which I have no experience with), but the extraction and replication coding could probably be done - from my experience - for free (free as far as the AI is concerned; it would still be quite labor-intensive for the human guidance and debugging required), using for example Google Gemini.
