Wear a BP on a slender wrist…

I have a very thin wrist (15,7 cm – 6,2 inches) and I usually have too set standard straps to fit me well. Even though, I love big watches. I used to wear in a very comfortable way my Portuguese Automatic Ref. 5001 (not a tiny case) and even my PANERAI Luminor with a 44mm case. But these big watches are not as big as a BIG pilots.

I have tried a BP on my AD and it definitely looks too big on my wrist, lugs are slightly off the wrist and strap hung down to attach the wrist. Nevertheless, I love it so much and I am thinking to get it and try to get used to wear it not matter how big it looks like on my wrist, this function to me with the 44m PANERAI (I thought initially it was too big and now I love the size of the watch and use it often) but BP is even bigger.

Any experience or suggestions? I love the BP but I do not want to discover is too big for my wrist after the purchase. I will go to the AD this afternoon to try again !!!

It took me ages to get over the 'it is too big' thing but I did and now I just love this watch!

I don't care what anyone else thinks but sofar I have just had a lot of compliments LOL.

The difference is not so big to 44 mm

I admit, my wrist is just a bit bigger (17 cm), but my Portuguese Perpetual Calendar sits beautifully on it. When you are used to that, or the Portuguese Automatic, the jump to the Big Pilot is just a small one, only 2 mm, you hardly will notice the difference when looking. I just found out that when I tried a Big Pilot at the Collectors' Meeting, while swapping my Portuguese Perpetual Calendar for a moment or two. So, go ahead! Furthermore, I agree with Nicky: do as you please.

I love the "Italian pretender" as you said and not plans to leave it, but I agree with you the BP is bigger and, of course, greater.... !!!!

i was just teasing - it's a nice watch but...

i honesty think the BP is the watch of the moment. nothing has the presence of the BP. nothing!

I agree with Nicky. My wrist is about...

6.5 inches or around 17 cm. My BPP looks just fine. At the collectors meeting many of us wore watches on both wrists and I discovered that my other wrist is a little bigger, about 7 inches or around 18 cm-- probably from playing lots of tennis. But I think I'll stay with my smaller wrist.

My right wrist is bigger too ...

But still small, I mean 16,5 cm. I see some people wear watch on right. May be a matter of get used to, but I will insist in my left wrist.

Go for it - you cant regret it

I need to measure my wrist - but it's circumference is not so big - and the Big Pilot is very comfortable and at home there - although I only had one for a few days (as a test drive) from a fellow collector

BP. I have a small wrist too, but it is a very comfortable watch to wear. Its my fav. watch.

I can see from your photo with the 5001 that the lugs are already hanging past your wrist.

The BP will wear much bigger than that, and you've already stated, you find it it looks too big on your wrist.

Sometimes we just have to accept the fact that a certain watch is not meant for you.

No problem at all...

to wear a BP on a small wrist (See picture my thin wrist above). The only thing you would have to do is to order a XS (small) strap with your BP to ensure that the folding clasp is sitting properly on the back of your wrist.

Is good to read your savvy words. Thank you. That is exactly my concern, I know the watch is definitely too big for my wrist and lugs are hanging off no dude. Even though, when I try and try again the BP I like it so much, is stunning, shining on my slender wrist. Since I see the BP in flesh and tried it I can’t take it off my head.

So, what I am asking my self is: am I crazy enough (for this watch) to use this too-big-for-me watch?, or this madness will stay to use the BP often enough? First, answer were no man is too much. But after this post, I see some guys do it. Could I?

I will take it with patience. I have no rush to make this purchase. Your thought always help.
