We are very fortunate to have collectors that are so passionate about IWC that
they devote time and effort in expanding their knowledge about the brand, the
history and want to share it with us here on the forum.

From time to time, a more elaborate work is converted into a book.

Some time ago, I made this post

    forum.iwc.com/t/new-book-on-iwc-on-the-market/32841/#post-287251

about a very interesting book regarding the early years of IWC.

This time I am very happy to present a new book, written by our fellow
    collector Adrian van Der Meijden.

Adrian wrote over a long period articles for the Horological Journal in the
UK. Recently, he reviewed them with new found information and knowledge and
asked Horological Journal to make a book with these articles.

So here it is. The collectors that attended the collectors meeting got it in
their goodie bag, I have 5 books that I can give to members of the forum.

The book can also be ordered ( just give me an email, I will assist ). This
was made on a limited run, so be sure to get one.

So if you want one as a gift, just make a post and tell us what historical IWC
you would want to add to your collection if money would be no issue.

What a tremendous surprise- it looks like a very special book indeed! The
Historical IWC that I would love to add to my collection is the lepine calibre
71 deck watch with central seconds.

Great Tonny! I'd like to add to my IWC pocket watches collection Pallweber
    with Cyrillic "hours and minutes".

What a fantastic effort! This book looks very special and it is great to see
some forum names in the mix too!

Tonny, the vintage IWC I'd like to add to my collection would be a Pallweber
    pocket watch.

    Hi Tonny
What a fantastic achievement by Adrian to get a very interesting book together
on our favourite brand. An amazing amount of work, by a passionate collector.

The historical IWC I would like to add to my collection is IL Distro Scafusia
Ref 1868 introduced to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the
    International Watch Company.

I've had the pleasure of hearing a presentation by Adrian in person. This
book appears to be a "must have" for our collectors community. If money were
no object, I would covet acquiring the Pisa Portuguese that a few of our
    friends here own!

Great gesture Adrian and Tonny! I had the pleasure to meet Adrian on various
occassions and collectors' meetings and he is an extremely knowledgeable and
friendly person, his co-authors of the book are also very impressive group of
    fine gentlemen.

Back to your quesiton, since I'd LOVE to get this book: I dream of owning an
original ref. 1812 Aquatimer, black dial with white outer-ring.

    Groeten,

    Bob

Way too late to the party... would love to have this book. Haven't met Adrian
in person, but actually bought a watch from him.

Anyway, the Portuguiser 325 is missing in my collection...

    All the best!

Wow, what a great initiative. Would love to have one (Tonny, I have sent you
    an email)
I have been a lover of IWC since 2011 and finally ordered my first watch (the
new pilot chrono with inhouse movement on the bracelet). More about that
later. When it arrives I will post about it here.

The watch I would love to own is the original Da Vinci Perpetual Calendar from
(if I am not mistaken) 1986.
Vividly remeber sitting next to mister Kurt Klaus in Geneva during SIHH and
asking him how he designed such a wonderful movement without the aid of modern
technology such as CAD software. Will never forget what he said (in a heavy
German accent): "I sharpened my pencil and I took a fresh sheet of paper and
    got to work"

    Best,

    Waimar

Fantastic! History and legacy is central in building up our passion into IWC. I would also love to get a book, Tony.

Hard to choose one model, but Aquatimer Deep One would also be among my favourites.
